(KLZA) The Falls City Middle School at 1415 Morton Street will host the Community Medical Center Health Fair on Saturday from 8 a-m until noon.
The theme of the event is “Country Strong.” Awareness and Safety.
There will be free screenings, free services and health information available during the event and once again the Lions Mobile screening unit will be on site for vision and hearing tests. Blood sugar and cholesterol screenings will be available and there will be door prizes.
Jay and Sherry Morehead will present programs at 9 a-m and again at 10 a-m on the importance of safety concerning chemical applications. Just over five years ago Jay Morehead’s life was changed forever by anhydrous amonia. Sherry commented. ( play audio :28 seconds )

Morehead notes that working with chemicals become second nature to many of those working in the ag industry. The Morehead’s want to help make everyone aware how quickly things can change and just how devastating one accident can be. ( play audio :46 seconds )
At 11 a-m Saturday the University of Nebraska at Lincoln Extension department will present a pesticide application training program. You can sign up for the training by calling 402-245-4324.
