(MSC News)--An assessment of last week's winter storm is made in preparation for the latest round of winter weather now targeting the local area.
Kansas Governor Sam Brownback joined Kansas Adjutant General Major General Lee Tafanelli to address the situation.
Brownback says last weeks efforts, due to the consideration of the public, were a success, and he hopes to see that repeated this time around(Play Audio)
Tafanelli says the state is again prepared to offer local assistance, as needed, and encourages safe travel, if necessary, during the storm(Play Audio)
A winter storm warning remains in place for the counties of Atchison, Doniphan, Jackson, Jefferson and Leavenworth. Meanwhile, Brown, Nemaha and Pottawatomie Counties remain under a winter weather advisory.
