( KNZA )--The Jackson County Commission is considering whether to continue requiring reservations for campsites at the Banner Creek Reservoir.
The issue was brought up at this week’s commission meeting.
Banner Creek Reservoir Manager Larry Holliday said the previous commission last spring agreed to allow reservations for five designated campsites at the reservoir for Jackson County residents only. Holliday said the new policy was met with mixed reviews.
The campsites that are currently eligible to be reserved are located on the north side of the reservoir. He said reservations for the spots filled up quickly during holiday weekends, but weren’t filled completely during the rest of the camping season.
Holliday asked commissioners whether they wanted to continue the reservation policy this spring and summer.
No action was taken on the issue, but the commission agreed to study the matter further.
