News Update - Kansas Legislature

On Feb. 28, SB 82 which would rollback the state's Renewable Energy Portfolio Standards (RPS) was defeated on the Senate floor. But HB 2241, which would do roughly the same rollback, was referred to the Appropriations Committee. This means that in spite of not making it out of its house of origin in the State Legislature by the March 1 deadline, it can still be brought back up at any time or attached to another bill.  Renewable energy in Kansas  is not safe yet.
