(KAIR) -- The jury trial for an Oskaloosa woman charged in a Jefferson County child abuse case has been postponed.
Lori Courter had been scheduled to go on trial next week on charges of aggravated battery, abuse of a child and child endangerment.
Jefferson County Attorney Jason Belveal says a new trial date hasn't been set yet.
The trial was continued after Belveal filed a motion Thursday seeking an upward departure from the state's sentencing guidelines if Courter is convicted in the case.
Courter is alleged to have poured scalding hot water on a three year old girl last July.
She was arrested following an investigation by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department.
Courter is currently free on bond.
