(KNZA)--Easter celebrations are planned for Saturday, one day prior to the holiday itself.
The Morrill Community Easter Egg Hunt is planned for 1:00, while the City of Holton will hold theirs at 10:00 around the Courthouse lawn.
The Sabetha First Lutheran Church holding a "New Life Festival," from 9:30 until 10:00 in the morning, for children of all ages. The free event will include a house of fun, crafts, games, animals, snacks and an Easter Egg Hunt.
Just prior to that, at 9:00, the Sabetha Kiwanis Club will hold their annual hunt at the sports complex on North 6th Street.
Hiawatha will also hold it's annual Easter Egg Hunt in the morning. Chamber of Commerce Director Stacy Babb says it will happen outside the courthouse starting at 10:00, with the little hunters divided by age group.
Another Easter Egg Hunt will begin around the same time, as the Centralia High School Booster Club sponsors the event. It begins at 10:00 for children 0 to 3 years old, who hunt for eggs at Leisure Lodges. Children 4 to kindergarten will seek their eggs at Riggens Football Field, beginning at 10:30, while those in grades 1 to 3 will hunt at 11:00 at Hidden Park.
The City of Atchison will continue their traditional Easter Egg Hunt starting at 10:00. Happening this year at the Atchison Sports Complex, children up to 10-years-old are invited.
At 10:30, registration begins for another Hiawatha event, including an easter egg hunt, as part of the Hiawatha Zion Lutheran Church's “New Life Festival.” That's open to children aged 3 to 12.
The Easter Egg hunting will continue during the afternoon, when the community of Corning, courtesy of the Red Rustlers 4-H Club, holds its event at 1:00, starting with kids up to 3 years old. At 1:15, those aged 4 to 6 will have their turn, followed by the 7 to 9 year olds at 1:30.
Horton ceremonies will get underway at 2:00, as the non-profit “God's Closet” hosts an Easter party in the city. Actitivities planned until 5:00 will include a cake walk, a 3 legged race, spoon racing, a coloring contest and an Easter Egg Hunt.
The City of Bern will also be alive with children hunting the colorful eggs. Open to chidren up to the 5th grade, that starts at 3:00 at the Bern Community Building.
