Small farms are a big deal! The Small Farm Management workshop set for Emporia, Ks. on Saturday April 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. will provide the tools and resources to help you successfully manage those small acreages and farms.  Learn about goal-setting for your property, land and water health, resource evaluation and the thought process behind running a successful farm.

 

The agenda includes a morning session on: 

    Goals for Your Property, Land Inventory, and Resource Evaluation--  

          with Dale Kirkham, KRC, and Brian Rees, Lyon County Extension

 

 After lunch, the sessions include:

     Livestock & Horse Grazing Management- David Kehler, Butler County  

               Extension

     Wildlife Management- Roger Wells, Wildlife Biologist 

     Livestock Health and Nutrition- Katie Miller, Veterinarian

     Pond Management and Water Quality- Paul Ingle, Flint Hills RC&D 

   

Cost is $15; Lunch will be provided.  The workshop will be at the Flint Hills Technical College  Conference Center at 3301 West 18th Avenue, Emporia, Ks.  Register by April 10!   Contact 620-341-3220.

    
The 2013 Small Farm Management Workshop is presented by K-State Research and Extension-Lyon County, Flint Hills RC & D, FHTC Community Connections, Lyon & Chase County Conservation Districts and the Kansas Rural Center .
