Projected Nebraska Plantings for 2013

 (KLZA) Spring is officially here.  Area farmers are getting anxious to get in the field and get this years crop in the ground.

Scott Kelly with the USDA Ag Statistics Service provides us with a rundown of what producers in Nebraska are planning to plant this spring.

Nationally producers plan to plant 1 percent more corn that last year and soybean plantings are expected to increase 7 percent.

This years estimate is that it will take $280 per acre  to get the corn crop planted and off to a good start.
