(KAIR) -- An Oskaloosa citizen is asking the county attorney to prosecute his neighbors as the result of their dogs killing his cattle.
Nate Perry met with Jefferson County Commissioners this week and says he’s attempted to resolve the issue through zoning regulations and the Sheriff’s department to no avail.
The case was filed with the County Attorney’s office last June but to date, hasn’t been prosecuted.
Sheriff Jeff Herrig was present at the meeting and said County Attorney Jason Belveal informed him something will be done about it this week.
Perry said he’s had problems with the dogs for the past three years.
Another citizen, Tim Bailey of Oskaloosa, also told Commissioners he had similar problems on his property.
Commissioners asked County Counselor Josh Ney to meet with Belveal to see if they can expedite prosecution of the case.
