(KNZA)--The Board of Education for USD 430 met Monday evening; and, by the time the meeting concluded, district leadership roles were renewed for the next school year.
Action during the meeting included the extension of contracts for all school principals in the district, as well as that for Superintendent Doctor Steve Davies.
The decision was made following a length of time spent in executive session focused on the extensions.
Additionally the Board of Education for the South Brown County Schools also approved, with regrets, the resignation of Horton High School Secretary Kathy Scott, effective at the end of the 2013-2014 school year.
Those district employees, ending their time with the school district at the close of this school year, will be honored during a retirement ceremony on May 8th.
Planned to be held at the Horton High School Commons area, the honorees will include Middle School teacher Deb Gerdes, Elementary School teacher Jeanie Strube, Middle School cook Jo Chamberlin and Elementary School Paraprofessional Sue Maxwell.
Plans for this years high school graduation ceremony are also approved, as reviewed during the School Board meeting.
It will happen at 1:30 on the afternoon of Sunday, May 19th, at the Horton High School Gymnasium.
School Board members Roger Madere and Janice Crider will present the graduating students with their diplomas.
