( KMZA )-A resurfacing project is to begin Wednesday ( May 1st ) on a nearly 12 mile stretch of U.S. 77 in Marshall County, weather permitting.
The Kansas Department of Transportation says the project will take place from the junction with U.S. 36 west of Marysville to the Kansas/Nebraska state line.
Beginning on Wednesday, traffic on U.S. 77 will be reduced to one lane as crews begin work at the south end of the project west of Marysville and progress north.
Traffic will be directed through the project work zone via a pilot car operation during daylight hours only. Drivers should expect delays of up to 15 minutes maximum and are encouraged to use alternate routes, if possible.
Bettis Asphalt Construction Company of Marysville is the primary contractor just over $988,000 project, which is scheduled for completion in late May, weather permitting
