EDGERTON, MO. (AP) - The Leavenworth County attorney is weighing whether to file charges after three inmates escaped from the Lansing Correctional Facility Friday morning.
Platte County, Missouri prosecutors previously charged 31-year-old Allen M. Hurst and 49-year-old Scott A. Gilbert with 12 felony counts.
Hurst and Gilbert were taken into custody after an about 7-hour standoff Friday afternoon at a home near Edgerton, Missouri.
The Kansas Department of Corrections says the third escapee, 57-year-old Randy Ridens, Sr. was taken into custody later Friday night as he was entering Topeka.
Corrections spokesman Jeremy Barclay says an investigation into the escape is ongoing.
