Nebraska Corn Planting Running About 10 Days Late
05/14/2013

(KLZA) Nebraska farmers are working hard to plant their corn crop, but this spring's wet weather has slowed their work.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture says about 43 percent of Nebraska's corn crop has been planted. That's about 10 days behind the average of 77 percent planted at this point.

Nebraska's wheat crop continues to be in bad shape. About 48 percent of the wheat crop is in poor or very poor condition. Only about 12 percent rates either good or excellent.

The state's pastures haven't grown much this spring, and most of the grazing land in the western half of the state is in bad shape.
