(KAIR) -- Two hundred new iPads will be in the hands of seventh through 12th graders at Valley Falls schools next fall.
The USD 338 school board approved the roughly 86 thousand dollar purchase Monday evening.
Superintendent Loren Feldkamp says this is a culmination of a series of pilot projects around two years in the making.

Feldkamp says middle school students will have to check the iPads back in at the end of the day while high schoolers will get to take them home.
The district has plans over the next few months to hold training sessions for teachers, parents and students.
In other business, the board approved another project around a year in the making…renovation of the high school track.
Six different contractors will work on the track in an effort to bring it back up to standards to host competitive meets.
Total cost of the project is roughly 190 thousand dollars.
The board also hired Bob Ostmeyer as a new Chemistry and Physics teacher, as well as Kylie Miller as the new Business teacher for next year.
