KCA Recognizes Industry Leaders
05/21/2013

Since its inception, KCA has been on the receiving end of great leaders. The association is driven by its members, and as KCA welcomes new Board members, the association shows appreciation for the cattle producers who have served the industry. This spring Danny Herrmann (Spearville), Aaron Winter (Dodge City), and Mason Greene (El Dorado) all from various backgrounds in the cattle industry, fulfilled their roles within the leadership of KCA and will be relinquishing their official roles on the Board of Directors.

Each individual brought a different perspective to the association. Greene, a cow-calf producer from the flint hills, Herrmann, a feed yard manager, and Winter, with extensive livestock market and feed yard experience, helped KCA to address the various industry situations as they related to KCA policies. As the new Animal Disease Traceability program was developed, each of these men was able to address how the program would affect their neighbors and friends.

"From marketing to bio-security, Danny, Mason, and Aaron used their lifelong knowledge and experiences to advocate for producers. In their three year term, each man volunteered his time and dedicated his resources to advancing the position for independent producers within the industry," commented Executive Director Brandy Carter.

Each man brought something different to the table, yet all of them always tried to reflect on the guidelines and policies of the association ahead of any personal thoughts. That helped to sustain a united Board where we could all come together and work for our members," stated KCA President Perry Owens.

Although each will be missed as part of the KCA leadership, all three men continue to remain engaged and active within the association.
