Richardson County Commissioners Discuss Health Insurance

(KTNC) - Richardson County Commissioners discussed the county’s health insurance plan with Dan Duren and Dustin Will of Benefit Management during Tuesday’s meeting.  Will and Duren presented a quote and plan for the county’s insurance plan.
 A meeting with all county employees to explain the plan was scheduled for 2:00 p.m. next Thursday, May 30, in the District Courtroom.
 Also this week, John Day of Blue Valley Behavioral Health requested continued funding for the substance abuse service provided to Richardson County residents.  The request for the next fiscal year is $8,000.
 Dan Schinstock of ETI provided an update on the replacement of the air conditioning system at the Courthouse.  He said a few changes need to be corrected with the control system to complete the project.
 Commissioners approved the Comprehensive Juvenile Services Plan for Richardson, Johnson, Nemaha, and Pawnee Counties.  Jackie Schmitz of People United for Families of Nebraska City presented the plan, which is effective from January 1, 2013 through December 31, 2015.
 Commissioners voted to reappoint Carol Hamilton to the Southeast District Health Board. 
 They also approved a motion to authorize the County Attorney to send notices to landowners who have not complied with brush notices to appear at a hearing to determine whether they are in compliance with the brush notice.
 Richardson County has sent a letter to the Nebraska Commission on Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice regarding the county’s intent to develop new construction plans for a Jail and Law Enforcement Center as specified in the Nebraska Jail Standards.
