(KMZA)--No injuries are reported, but one home is listed as a total loss, and numerous outbuildings incurred damaged, following reported tornado touchdowns in Nemaha County late Tuesday afternoon.
Nemaha County Emergency Management Director Todd Swart says the home was located at 52nd and J Road, just west of Corning.
A complete assessment of the damage is continuing.
The slow moving tornado, reportedly traveling around 10 miles per hour, touched down around Corning at 4:30.
A second touchdown was reported about a half hour later near Goff.
The heavy rains that accompanied the storm has forced the closure of one Nemaha County road.
The Kansas Department of Transportation says K-187 is closed over Weyer (Katz) creek at mile marker 2.8 due to floodwaters over the roadway.
Meanwhile, the tornado that touched down Monday night just northwest of Marysville, in Marshall County, has been rated as an EF-2. That follows assessments made by the National Weather Service, which reports the tornado, which left business, residences and outbuildings damaged in its wake, produced winds up to 135 miles per hour.
The findings come from preliminary estimates made by the weather service.
No one was injured when the touchdown happened around 9:30 Monday night.
