Rail Road Line Near Seneca Incurs Storm Damage
05/29/2013

(KMZA)--The torrential rains that accompanied Tuesday night's storms that swept through Nemaha County also caused another issue, impacting the railroad tracks, just east of Seneca near U.S. Highway 36.

Passersby Wednesday noticed railroad crews at work, attempting to repair the flood damage.

According to Union Pacific Railroad spokesman Mark Davis, the heavy rains caused a near 200 foot wash out underneath the tracks.

The area has since been filled in with rock, and the line is open to train traffic.

Engineering crews are monitoring the area for any other potential flood damage.
