( KMZA )--A 20-year-old Seneca man remains in custody, following his arrest for an alleged rape.
Seneca Police Chief Brent Schulte says officers were dispatched early Wednesday afternoon to 608 Benedict Street in reference to a possible domestic situation.
After speaking with the occupants and resolving the problem, Schulte says officers were made aware of an allegation of a sexual assault involving one of the residents and a female Seneca resident under the age of 14.
After interviews were completed by Investigator Carrie Clark, he says David Hobbs, II, was arrested and booked into the Nemaha County Jail.
Hobbs had previously been arrested last December by the Seneca Police Department on a warrant stemming from a case in Sabetha for aggravated indecent liberties with a child.
He pleaded no contest to an amended charge of indecent solicitation of a child in February. In exchange for the plea, two counts of criminal sodomy were dismissed.
Hobbs was given a suspended 26 month prison sentence in March and placed on 24 months probation.
