Pawnee City Council Approves Resolutions
05/30/2013

(KTNC) - The Pawnee City Council approved a couple resolutions during their meeting Tuesday evening.
One resolution, approved unanimously, gave favorable comment to a request from the Pawnee County Ag Society for a special designated liquor license during this summer’s county fair.
The other resolution, approved 3-1 with councilman John Dahlgren voting no, allows a certain amount of money to be spent on things such as retirement celebrations, birthdays, and memorials.  The amount is capped at $150 for retirement parties and smaller amounts for other occasions.
The council heard updates on progress being made on a couple of nuisance properties.
The council approved the appointment of Ray Kappel to the Planning Commission, and the request of Council member Deb Klein to be removed as the council’s representative to the Animal Control Board.  Sandy Corbett-Sears, who will replace Roxann Buman on the council at the end of June, will be the new council representative on the Animal Control Board.
The Pawnee City Pool opened last weekend.  Tim Blecha is the Pool Manager this summer.  Mike Stinman and Mary Mosier are the assistant managers, and there are approximately 10 lifeguards employed for the season at the Pawnee City pool.
