Atchison Man Pleads Guilty to Drug Charge
06/11/2013

(KAIR) -- An Atchison man pleads guilty to a drug charge as part of a plea deal a day prior to his scheduled jury trial.

Scott Vandeloo pled guilty to the charge of possession of methamphetamine Monday in Atchison County District Court.

In exchange, charges of possession of K2, possession of drug paraphernalia and two traffic charges were dismissed.

He was arrested by Atchison Police in early February after a traffic stop.

Upon a search of the vehicle, a hollow pin containing the meth was discovered.

Sentencing is set for July 29th.

County Attorney Gerald Kuckelman says Vandeloo could qualify for a prison term since Vandeloo was on felony probation during the time of his arrest and had two prior drug convictions.

He could face 10 to 42 months in prison on the charge.
