Nebraska Soybean Farmers Catching Up
06/11/2013

(KLZA) Drier weather has allowed Nebraska farmers to catch up on soybean planting, baling hay, and applying chemicals to fields.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture says in Monday's crop update that corn is 98 percent fair, good, or excellent and 2 percent is poor or very poor. Soybeans are 94 percent panted, which is average. Seventy-one percent of the crop has emerged behind the 81 percent average.

The crop is rated 98 percent fair, good, or excellent and 2 percent poor.

The USDA is scheduled on Wednesday to release an update on the acres farmers are planting for each crop and a new estimate of the amount of corn and soybeans per acre farmers may expect to harvest in the fall.
