(KLZA) Richardson County Commissioners Tuesday authorized Pam Scott, Clerk of the District Court to compile a listing of five employees willing to serve on a committee to review the options available for county employee health insurance coverage and present the list to the County Board for formal appointment.
Currently the County provides Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance to employees through the Nebraska Association of County Officials. The new policy year begins July 1st and will include a 12 percent hike in premiums.
Recently Benefit Management of Lincoln approached the County about serving as a broker for Richardson County for health insurance needs. While there appears to be no time to make a change for the coming year, the committee will begin meetings to look at options for next year.
Commissioners also approved advertising for applications and resumes for the clerical position in the Emergency Management Agency office. This will be a 32.5 hour per week job with hours of 9 a-m to 4:30 p-m Monday through Friday.
A permit was also approved for Wardcraft Homes to move an oversized load on county road 657 Avenue from Highway 159 north three miles then east a mile on 709 Road and then north a mile on 658 Avenue, then back west 1 ¾ miles on 710 Road on Monday, June 17th.
