( KNZA )--A Horton man has changed his plea in a child sex case.
43-year-old Robert Whitfield pleaded no contest Wednesday in Brown County District Court to a charge of aggravated criminal sodomy involving a child born in 2003. The charge was amended from an off-grid felony to level 1 felony.
Sentencing was set for July 8th.
Whitfield had pleaded “ not guilty” to the charge last month and a jury trial had been set for July.
He was arrested last November following an investigation by the Brown County Sheriff’s Department.
Whitfield remains in the Brown County Jail on $200,000 bond.
