Mound City 4th of July Celebration Begins Tuesday Night

 (KLZA) The Mound City, Missouri 4th of July celebration will last nearly a week.

The activities begin Tuesday with the Baby Show at the State Theater at 7 p-m.

On Wednesday the Patriotic Opening is held at the State Theater starting at 7 p-m presented by American Legion Post #121. 

The King and Queen will be crowned during the event and the 4th of July Queen will be crowned.

On Thursday the 4th events kickoff will the 8 a-m Red Rock Fun run.  The 4th of July Parade with a theme of “All Star Salute to the U.S.A. will begin at 10 a-m.  

The Mound City Lions Club will serve lunch at the Griffith Park Shelter House at 11:30 a-m and at the same time and site American Legion post #121 will sponsor an ice cream social.  

A Community Band concert will take place in Griffith Park starting at 1 p-m.  The Kids Pedal Tractor Pull will be held at the same time.  A pet show will be held at 2 p-m at the same time the penny toss will be going on at the pool.

Trivia Challenge will be played at Griffith Park at 2:30 p-m and at 4 p-m a ping pong ball drop will be held at the football field.

The fireworks display this year will be at dusk on Friday, July 5th at the Mound City Golf course.

Events wrap-up Saturday night, July 6th with the 3rd annual Mound City Firemen Truck and Tractor Pull at the Mound City Rodeo Grounds.
