DeKalb Mo Teen Sentenced in Deadly Crash
( KAIR )--A DeKalb, Missouri teenager has been sentenced to five years probation and 120 days of shock time in jail for a deadly crash that killed a St. Joseph teen.
KQ2 News reports Buchanan County Judge Dan Kellogg handed the sentence today ( Monday ) to 17-year-old Dylan Pierce on a charge of involuntary manslaughter.
Pierce was also ordered to perform 250 hours of community service and to complete an alcohol abuse program.
The charge stems from an accident last December that killed 18-year-old Cole Patrick.
Authorities say Patrick was a passenger in a pickup driven by Pierce that went off Cook Road and hit a tree. Pierce and another passenger, Brent Bush of DeKalb, suffered minor injuries.
