( KNZA )--The 58th annual Northeast Kansas Rodeo will take place in Sabetha Saturday and Sunday evenings.
Prior to the rodeo Saturday evening, a parade will be held in downtown Sabetha. A children’s bicycle parade will be at 6 o’clock, and the main parade at 6:30.
All youngsters who decorate their bikes and participate in the children’s parade will be eligible for a ticket to a rodeo performance.
Entries in the parades can be made up to parade day. Pre-registration forms are available at the Sabetha Chamber of Commerce office in the Sabetha City Hall, or online at sabethachamber.com
Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place floats. Floats must be in place by 5:45 Saturday evening to be judged.
The annual rodeo, co-sponsored by the Chamber and Sabetha Saddle Club, will get underway Saturday evening at 8’clock and again Sunday evening at 7 o’clock.
In addition to traditional rodeo events, there will be a calf scramble for ages 8-12, and stick horse races for ages 7 and under.
Advance tickets, which are $7 for adults and $5 for 5-12 year olds, are available at Sabetha banks and Garrett’s Country Mart. Tickets can also be purchased at the gate, but will be a $1 more. There is no admission charge for children 4 and under.
