07/23/2013

(KTNC) - A full slate of activities is planned for the Pawnee County Fair, which begins Wednesday in Pawnee City.
That slate of activities includes the rodeo, which marks its 20th year at the Pawnee County Fair this year.  Ag Society president Jay Sharpe says the rodeo features saddle bronc, calf roping, bull riding, steer wrestling, and barrel racing, with professional cowboys sanctioned by three rodeo associations.  (play audio   :12     “other activities.”)
Sharpe says there are a couple other big attractions planned.   (play audio   :22    “on that.”)
Wednesday’s activities include the first day of the horse show.
Thursday is the first big night, with the horse show continuing, along with the broiler and rabbit show, and the fair parade at 6:00 p.m. Thursday to kick off the evening activities.   (play audio   :19    “rodeo arena.”)
The livestock shows are Friday, beginning at 8:00 a.m. with the swine show, followed by the bucket calf, beef, sheep, meat goat, dairy goat, and dairy cattle shows.
The poultry show is Saturday morning, with the livestock premium sale scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Saturday.
The 4-H Building opens at noon each day of the fair, and the static exhibit premium sale will be held Wednesday through Saturday.
