Brown Co Represented at National Pageant
(KNZA)--Pleased with the experience, and the opportunity to take part.
That's the sentiment expressed by Horton's Justine Kimmi, following the 18-year-old's weekend participation in the National American Miss Pageant, held in Wichita.
Despite her lack of an overall win, Kimmi still won a portfolio award, given for pictures she entered in a photogenic contest, in connection with the pageant.
Kimmi encourages other youth to take part in such events, or other such opportunities, for the sake of experience.
The 2013 Horton High School Graduate now sets her sites on the fall, and the start of her collegiate career at K-State.
Kimmi wasn't the only Brown County resident spending the weekend in Wichita at the pageant. Competing in the Junior Teen division was 14-year-old Syndey Jane Campbell, of Hiawatha.
