(KLZA) During Tuesday’s meeting of the Richardson County Commissioners the Board took action that will hopefully help clear the way for the Preston Road Project to begin.
Board members authorized Chairman David Sickel to sign an Assignment Agreement with Dobson Brothers Construction Company and Constructors Incorporated, including a stipulation that Dobson Brothers Construction must keep their performance bond in affect as per the contract document or with an agreement between Constructors Inc. to hold Richardson County harmless in the event that Dobson Brothers Construction would have claim with Constructors Incorporated.
It was recently learned that the portion of the Dobson Brothers Company that had contracted to do the hard surfacing work on the Preston Road no longer exists.
The goal is still to have work on the project start the first week in August.
In other business Tuesday Commissioners approved an agreement with the Nebraska Department of Roads for underwater bridge inspections.
County Clerk Mary Eickhoff was designated as the budget-making authority for the fiscal year 2013-14 budget.
Commissioners also met with Road and Bridge Department Union members Randy Gilsdorf, Steve Darveau and Jim Olberding.
A “certificate of completion of the Richardson County Courthouse Water Chiller Replacement” was also approved by the Board.
