( KNZA )--A Holton man facing two child sex charges has waived his preliminary hearing and could enter a plea next month.
46-year-old James Michael Baxter has been bound over to Jackson County District Court on charges of sexual exploitation of a child and aggravated indecent liberties with a child younger than 14 years of age.
A status hearing in the case has been set for August 23rd.
Baxter was arrested in late April after Jackson County sheriff’s deputies and officers with the Department of Homeland Security served a search warrant at a residence on 262nd Road in connection with an investigation into the distribution of child pornography. Officers seized computers from the scene.
