( KNZA )--A Horton man has pleaded no contest to a charge of aggravated criminal sodomy involving a child born in 2002.
Brown County Attorney Kevin Hill says 24-year-old Wyatt Brown entered the plea Tuesday morning in Brown County District Court to the felony charge.
Sentencing is set for September 9th.
Brown had originally pleaded “ not guilty” to the charge earlier this month and a jury trial had been scheduled for August.
He was arrested in March following a joint investigation by the Horton Police Department, Brown County Sheriff’s Department and Kansas Highway Patrol.
Brown is a register sex offender, convicted in 2006 in Brown County on a charge of aggravated indecent liberties with an 11-year-old girl.
He remains in the Brown County Jail on $750,000 bond.
