Second Nebraska Prison Sentence For Topeka Woman

 (KLZA) The same day 35 year old Jamie D. Russel Engstrom was sentenced to a period of five years in prison in Johnson County District Court on a felony charge of child abuse,  she also received a sentence in Pawnee County District Court of 6 – 10 years in prison.

Russell-Engstom entered a guilty plea to a class III felony charge of Attempted Robbery in connection with the February 13th robbery of Casey’s General Store in Pawnee City.  She was allowed no credit for time served.  This sentence will run concurrent to any other sentence being served. She was also ordered t pay $179 in court costs.

Earlier Monday Jamie Russell Engstrom was sentenced to five years in prison with no parole for permitting a 14 year old female to be placed in a situation endangering her life or physical or mental health.

Jamie Russell Engstrom was a passenger in a car allegedly driven by her husband, Michael Engstrom during a police pursuit on February 13th.  During the pursuit two state troopers and three employees of the Johnson County Sheriffs office were allegedly shot at.  The Engstroms daughter was also a passenger in the vehicle.  

Both of the Engstroms are suspects in a double shooting in Topeka the same day that left one mad dead and a woman wounded.
