(KTNC) - The HTRS Booster Club is adding to the races it’s sponsoring during the Richardson County Fair.
The third annual “Up Before the Rooster” Booster Run is scheduled for Saturday, September 14th. In addition to the one mile, 5-K, and 10-K races, the Booster Club has added a half marathon.
April Binder is organizing the races. (play audio :29 “undertaking.”)
The races start and end at the Humboldt Lake Park, at 7:30 a.m. Binder describes the route, which will have runners wind their way through the streets of Humboldt. (play audio :37 “13-point-1.”)
Binder says the female half marathon winner will receive a day at the spa in Falls City – including a manicure and pedicure. The male half marathon winner will receive a $100 voucher to Chaney Furniture.
Registration is open up to the day of the race, though entries need to be postmarked by September 7th to guarantee a t-shirt. Registration is $20 until September 7th and $25 after that date.
Proceeds from the race go towards the proposed fitness center at the HTRS School. With the various races, Binder says it’s a good way to get in your exercise before enjoying the Richardson County Fair that Saturday. (play audio :37 “kind of a prize.”)
Entry forms are available by clicking on the Athletic Boosters’ link on the HTRS School District website, www.htrstitans.com.
