(KAIR)--A Colorado man learns his fate in Atchison County District Court this week, sentenced for the role he played in connection with marijuana flown to Atchison in April.
29-year-old Lance Thompson will now spend four years behind bars in prison for the crime.
He pled guilty to possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute in late June.
Thompson was one of four arrested after police seized 42 pounds of marijuana from an airplane that landed at the Amelia Earhart Memorial Airport in April. Thompson was a passenger aboard the plane and, according to authorities, planned to meet a Kansas City connection who would drive the pot elsewhere. Instead, Atchison Police intercepted the illegal cargo.
