Planned Water Outage in Horton to Require Boil Advisory
08/27/2013

( KNZA )-A boil advisory is being issued for a portion of Horton due to a planned water service outage west of Central Avenue.

City officials say a leaking valve on a section of water main will be replaced Wednesday morning.  The water will be shutoff at 8:30 for about two hours.

Residents west of Central, south of 15th Street and north of 10th Street will be affected. Once water service is restored, residents in those areas are advised to boil the water they use for drinking and cooking for at least 5 minutes prior to use.

The water may be used for bathing and other sanitary purposes.

The boil advisory will be in effect beginning Wednesday until further notice.  The earliest the boil advisory could possibly be lifted is Thursday morning.
