(KLZA) Due to the recent construction of a new bridge over the Little Tarkio Creek, contractors will relocate a county road near Craig, Missouri, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation. When the new bridge was built, guardrail was added for safety. However, the guardrail made it difficult to turn from Holt County Road 147 onto U.S. Hwy 59.
By moving the road to the south, traffic will have better access between the county road and the highway. Contractors will first build up the area where the new road will be located, then construct the new road and finally move traffic from the old road to the new road. Work will begin Monday, September. 9, 2013, and should be completed by December. 1, 2013.
Access to Holt County Road 147 will be open through most of the project with only short closures when traffic is moved from the old road to the new road.
All work is weather permitting. MoDOT apologizes for any inconvenience that this necessary work may cause.
