(KTNC) - The Nemaha NRD Board of Directors approved three bids for watershed repair projects this month.
The board approved the low bid of $77,000 from Kuhl (keel) Trenching and Excavating of Tecumseh, for work on two dams in the Upper Little Nemaha Watershed near Eagle.
Kuhl Trenching was also the low bidder on three dams in the Adams area with a bid of $56,437. B.A.B, Incorporated, of Adams submitted the low bid of $36,811 to repair three dams in Pawnee County.
All three projects include riprap and some require excavation and earth fill.
The NRD Board also approved eight well permit applications that scored above the threshold required for approval through the district’s new ranking criteria.
And the Board renewed an agreement with Keith Joekel to allow him to use 75 acre-feet of water annually from the reservoir at Middle Big Nemaha structure 88 for another 10 years.
The agreement satisfies a requirement to allow water to pass through the structure to satisfy a surface water permit Joekel has downstream of the dam that was in place before the structure was built.
