(KMZA)--An investigation by the Seneca Police Department into the local distribution of methamphetamine has led to charges against four individuals.
Police Chief Brent Schulte says 22-year-old Anthony Newcomb of Centralia was arrested Tuesday afternoon after a traffic stop in Seneca on a warrant charging him with the distribution of methamphetamine, unlawful use of a communication facility and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Nemaha County jail where he’s being held on $150,000 bond.
Schulte says 41-year-old Scott Makie of Sabetha and 40-year-old Darrin Anderson of Seneca were already in custody on unrelated drug charges when they were served warrants charging them with the sale of meth.
Schulte says a warrant has also been issued for another individual in the case, but an arrest hasn’t yet been made.
Seneca Police sent reports to the Nemaha County Attorney noting 18 drug offenses against the four individuals.
Schulte says the meth seized as a result of the investigation was relatively small, about ¼ ounce. However, he says the impact on the community will be large. Schulte says with four individuals being charged it will make a statement to anyone selling and/or using in the area.
Schulte says the investigation, which began in May, is ongoing and there’s a possibility that others may also be charged with drug-related offenses.
