(KAIR)--The first demolition blast on the former Amelia Earhart Memorial Bridge has been delayed once again.
According to a press release from the Kansas Department of Transportation, the blast, which had been scheduled for Monday, October 7th, was postponed due to rising waters in the Missouri River from rain and snow to the north which is pushing items down the river channel. Because of this, divers are not able to safely work in the channel.
The first blast will now tentatively take place on Wednesday morning, October 9th at 9:00. Dates for the second and third blasts are still being discussed. We will provide you with more information as it becomes available.
