Final Clean Line Hearing on Tap
10/07/2013

(MSC News) --The Kansas Corporation Commission plans to hear more information this week before it issues a final decision on the proposed Grain Belt Express Clean Line that would cross through several local counties.

A technical hearing is set for Tuesday through Thursday at the KCC offices in Topeka.

The proceeding will allow KCC staff, Clean Line Energy representatives and parties that have been allowed to intervene in the case to present their positions to the commission.

The KCC held four public hearings this summer along the planned route—including a hearing in Seneca.

Clean Line Energy is seeking approval to construct a high voltage transmission line through 19 Kansas counties—including Marshall, Nemaha, Brown and Doniphan.  The line would transmit energy from wind farms in southwest Kansas to the eastern United States.

The KCC is to make a decision in the case by November 17th.
