(KNZA)-A single-vehicle accident on a Doniphan County road about five miles southeast of Troy Sunday morning sent a Horton man to the hospital.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 28-year-old Corey Jones, of Atchison, was traveling east on 175th Road at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his car and struck an embankment.
A passenger in Jones car, 41-year-old Chad Gorrell, was transported to Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. Jones and two other passengers were not hurt.
The Patrol says none of the occupants were wearing seat belts.
The accident was reported around 11 Sunday morning.
