Students to Vote Wed. on New Mascot for USD 115
10/15/2013

(KMZA)-- Students will vote Wednesday on a new mascot for the new school that combines Nemaha Valley and B & B next school year.

The Nemaha Central USD 115 Board of Education Monday evening was given a list of five mascots suggestions by a committee comprised of students and staff.  The board then narrowed down that list further to three—Titans, Jaguars, and Thunder.

6th through 11th grade students at Nemaha Valley and B & B schools along with 8th grade students at the Sts. Peter and Paul School will now chose the new mascot for Nemaha Central.

At the board’s August meeting, the board approved purple and blue as the new school colors.  The board also decided that Nemaha Central will be the school name.

The board voted earlier this year to close the B &B Junior/Senior High School at the end of the 2013-2014 school year with students to attend school in Seneca.
