(KNZA)--Plans have been announced for the annual Brown County Veterans Day dinner.
A home cooked meal will be provided for Brown County Veterans of the US Armed Forces and their spouses on Friday, November 8th, beginning at 6 in the evening at the Hiawatha National Guard Armory.
The free meal will be provided to prior and active Brown County service members and will feature smoked pork with all the trimmings. There will be an update on the local National Guard Battalion activities and plans for the future provided by Battalion Commander, Christopher Burr. The Master of Ceremonies for the annual event will be Colonel William Vonderschmidt from Hiawatha. During the event, special recognition will be made of those men and women who served during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Veterans and former ladies Auxiliary members interested in attending should make reservations on or before Monday, November 4th. Reservations can be made by calling the Hiawatha National Guard Armory at 742-5600 or 742-5630, Cherie Herlinger at 547-5520 or Sam Schuetz at 742-3481. Those who need help with transportation are asked to make their reservation through Cherie Herlinger at 547-5520.
