Missing Former Marysville Man Found Dead
10/19/2013

(KMZA)--A former Marysville man, missing for more than a month, has been found dead in Utah.

The Riley County Police Department said in a news release they were contacted Friday by the Utah Highway Patrol that 54-year-old David Welch, of Manhattan, was found dead in a vehicle that had crashed in a ravine near Interstate-70 about 50 miles west of Green River, Utah.

The vehicle was reportedly discovered by a hitchhiker walking along the highway.

Authorities say evidence located at the scene indicated that the accident occurred September 3rd, but wasn’t immediately discovered because the vehicle came to rest at the bottom of a ravine that couldn’t be seen by highway traffic.

Welch was reported missing after he left his Manhattan home September 2nd without telling friends or family members where he was going.
