(KLZA) A prescription Takeback event is scheduled for Saturday, October 26th at the Family Value Pharmacy and ShopKo Pharmacy in Auburn. Hours of the event will be from 10 a-m until 2 p-m.
If you have unused or outdated medication, it can be safely and anonymously disposed of at either of these locations.
The Takeback event is a cooperative effort of the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office, Drug Enforcement Administration, Nemaha County Emergency Management, Nemaha County Hospital and the Nemaha Against Drug and Alcohol Coalition.
The annual event is intended to fight accidental poisonings and prescription drug abuse. Advocates say improper disposal can also contaminate groundwater.
