(KAIR)-A single-vehicle accident on Interstate-29 south of St. Joseph Friday morning claimed the life of a Nebraska man.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 40-year-old Eric Gouin, of Norfolk, was traveling south when his semi truck left the roadway for unknown reason around 8:45 and struck a large tree head-on.
Gouin was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident closed down the southbound lanes of I-29 near the Buchanan-Platte County line for more than 2 hours.
