Nemaha NRD Accepting Orders for Conservation Trees
11/04/2013

(KTNC) -  The Nemaha Natural Resources District is again accepting orders for conservation trees and they have a variety of conifers, deciduous trees, and shrubs available.  The seedlings will be delivered in the spring, but orders need to be placed well in advance.
Those who want the NRD to plant their trees need to order at least 200 trees by December 31.  If the ground where the trees will be planted is in sod, it must be tilled this fall to be eligible for the NRD’s planting services next spring.
For those who will be planting their own trees, orders will be accepted until March 1, or until the inventory is depleted.
NRD officials say they have seven types of conifers, eight deciduous trees, and 11 types of shrubs available this year.
Orders must be placed in lots of 25 per species.  The cost is 90-cents per seedling, plus a $2.50 handling and packaging charge.  NRD machine planting costs one-dollar per tree.
Contact the Nemaha NRD office at 402-335-3325, or visit their website,
