(KTNC) - The new Pawnee County Veteran’s Memorial will be dedicated Sunday afternoon.
The memorial consists of five granite walls, with the names of veterans engraved on four of the walls. The fifth wall has the names of service men and women who were killed in action. The memorial was recently installed on the Pawnee County Courthouse lawn, and it will be dedicated at 2:00 p.m. Sunday.
Guest speakers for the ceremony will be Barry Kennedy – a Pawnee City High School graduate and the current president of the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce and Industry – and Retired Rear Admiral Pierce Johnson, who recently became the president of the U.S. Navy Memorial Foundation in Washington, D.C.
Sunday’s ceremony will be held on the Pawnee County Courthouse lawn. It will be held in the Pawnee City School gym in the event of inclement weather.
