(KAIR)--Students in Atchison middle school could soon have access to the same kind of educational tool their counterparts in the high school have. The USD 409 school board spent some time during their meeting last week debating on how to expand the I pad initiative to include their middle school students. District Superintendent Susan Myers says that there are a few different directions they could take to make that expansion, such as extending the current lease they have for the high school students to include the middle school students, entering into a new lease for the middle school, and passing down the current I pads being used by the high school to the middle school.
Myers admits that having the latest technology in the classroom can only increase the learning potential of students, saying that since technology moves at such a fast pace these days, it only makes sense to have the latest technology available to students.
Myers gives the example of I pads having the capability of providing students with the latest, up to date information, where in the past, the standard school book did not have that capability.
